NEWTON AND ZUMA CANYON FALLS HIKE 3 25 2010
Late day hike out to these Malibu spots. Good amount of water flowing but didnt bring shorts or a towel. Only one spot is swimmable/jumpable and its about 10-15 feet high. The water is only about 5 feet deep but it has a sandy bottom so i expect it will get cleaned out after a hard rain. There is also a rock slide at this same pool.
Directions. Take PCH from Santa Monica and go right on Kanan-Dume Rd. in Malibu. Drive about 10 min through the first tunnel and park immediately after it on the left. Follow trail about 15 minutes to top of Newton falls. To get to lower falls follow creek downstream about ten minutes till it meets up with Zuma creek. Then head down stream about 10 min to swimmin spot. Beware of ticks got bit twice.
