BIG Group of homies all turned out for the First Major trip of the year. Met some new internet buddies and Hope to get down with them again. We got some posse photos but they need to be developed. The raging rapids or 3 sisters falls destroyed my go pro camera but it was because or a jerry rigged mount. We had sick footage on there, gonna get a replacement soon. The falls are located about 3 hours away from Los Angeles between the towns of Ramona and Julian. In a few weeks the water will be really low so get out there now and rage it up. Be aware that the first half of the trail seems timid, but the last half is very technical and steep, many people are injured here and you should proceed with caution and be ready for a sore morning after.
Directions to the falls from Los Angeles:
Take the 5 south to the 805 south to the 8 east. Then take the 79 north 1.3 miles and make a left on Riverside Dr. After 0.6 miles turn left on Viejas Grade Rd. and make the first right on Oak Grove Dr. Then 1.6 miles make a right on Boulder Creek Rd. Now drive 13 miles to the trailhead on the left. Don’t block the gate when you park and post your Forest Adventure Pass. Walk past the gate and hike down the trail on the top of the ridge. The path will veer to the left, you can see the falls at this point. From here you will descend the mountain. Follow the foot path, scrambling and butt-sliding down the trail. When you get to the canyon bottom a trail will appear, follow it to the left. Then rock up the rest of the way to the falls.
